1. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

We collect and use your personal information only where it is necessary to provide the DinDo app and the features you choose to use.

Some features of the app require access to information such as your account details, device information, camera settings, network connection, and, where enabled, video and audio data. Certain optional features, such as person detection, motion alerts, two-way audio and cloud recording, require additional information in order to operate correctly.

Where the app processes images or audio, this is solely to provide the functionality you have enabled. For example, person detection analyses video captured by your camera to determine whether a person is present so that you can receive relevant notifications. The app is not intended to identify individuals unless a feature specifically requires it.

We understand that some of the information used by these features may be considered sensitive. We take the protection of your privacy seriously and use appropriate technical and organisational security measures, including encryption where applicable, to help protect your personal information from unauthorised access, misuse or disclosure.

We only collect the minimum information reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, improve and secure our services. We do not obtain your personal information from third parties without a lawful basis to do so. If, in the future, it becomes necessary to collect information from another authorised source, we will clearly explain what information is being collected, why it is needed, and obtain your consent where required by applicable laws and regulations.

The following sections explain what information we collect, why it is required, and how it helps provide the features and services available within the DinDo app.

Core Functions

The core functions of the DinDo app allow you to set up, manage and use your camera. Certain information is required for these essential services to operate correctly. Without this information, some features of the app may not function as intended or may be unavailable.

2. Account Registration, Camera Setup and Video Services

Account Registration

To use the DinDo app, you will need to create an account or sign in to an existing account. During registration, you may be asked to provide your mobile phone number and create a password. If supported by your mobile network provider, you may also choose to use one-click login, which allows your mobile number to be securely provided to us with your permission for faster account setup.

If you choose not to use one-click login, you can still register using the standard account registration process.

You can update your profile information, including your profile picture, nickname and password, at any time within the app.

If you choose to delete your account, we will stop using your personal information and will delete or anonymise it, unless we are required to retain certain information to comply with applicable laws and regulationss or legal obligations.

Connecting Your Camera

After signing in, you can pair your camera with the DinDo app during the setup process.

To complete this securely, the app may request access to certain information, including:

· Your Wi-Fi network details (to connect the camera to your home network)

· Location permission (required by Android devices to display available Wi-Fi networks during setup)

· Your phone model and operating system version

· Camera model and firmware information

· Network connection status

· Limited device information required to establish and maintain a secure connection

This information is used solely to configure your camera, maintain a secure connection between your devices, improve product reliability, and help prevent unauthorised access to your camera.

You can remove a camera from your account at any time through the app settings. Once removed, the camera will no longer be associated with your account.

Live View and Video Recordings

Once your camera is connected, you can securely view live video and, where available, previously recorded footage through the DinDo app.

You may choose to:

· Watch live video from your camera

· View recorded events

· Save recordings to your mobile device

· Share recordings with others using third-party applications

If you choose to share a recording using another application, we do not receive access to your accounts with those third-party services.

If you subscribe to Cloud Storage, video recordings are securely encrypted before being uploaded and stored so they can be accessed across your authorised devices. Recordings are retained in accordance with your selected Cloud Storage plan.

If you choose to use local storage (such as a compatible memory card), recordings remain stored on the memory card and are not uploaded to our cloud servers.

3. Protecting Your Privacy

Your camera is designed to capture images and video within the area you choose to monitor. As a result, recordings may include members of your household, visitors or other individuals who enter the camera's field of view.

We recommend positioning your camera responsibly and respecting the privacy of others in accordance with local laws and regulations.

Where recordings are stored in the cloud, they are encrypted during transmission and storage to help protect your privacy. We do not use your recordings for advertising or marketing purposes, and we do not share your personal recordings with third parties except where required by law or where necessary to provide the services you have chosen to use.

4. Camera Controls and Device Settings

Once your camera has been connected, you can customise its settings through the DinDo app. Depending on your device, you can manage features such as:

· Camera name

· Live video viewing

· Motion and activity alerts

· Push notifications

· Photo and video albums

· Doorbell settings (where supported), including monitoring zones and security alerts

Your selected settings are securely synchronised with your camera so that it operates according to your preferences. This information is used only to provide and manage the features you choose to enable and to ensure your camera functions correctly.

5. Notifications and Message Centre

The Message Centre allows you to receive notifications and review recorded events from your camera.

You can customise features such as:

· Motion detection sensitivity

· Detection schedules

· Notification types

· Alert preferences

To receive timely notifications, you will need to enable push notifications and allow the app to run in the background where supported by your device.

Your notification preferences are securely synchronised with your camera so that alerts are delivered according to your chosen settings.

You can change or disable notifications at any time within the app. Disabling notifications will stop alerts from being sent but will not affect the normal operation of your camera or other app features.

6. Optional Features

Some features within the DinDo app are optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time.

We only collect and process the information required to provide the optional features you choose to use. If you disable an optional feature, we will stop collecting or using the information needed for that feature, while the core functions of the app will continue to operate normally.

7. Screenshots

The app allows you to capture screenshots while viewing live or recorded video.

Screenshots can be viewed in your in-app album and, where enabled, may be securely synchronised across your authorised devices so they are available wherever you are logged in.

Your screenshots are used solely to provide this feature and are not used for advertising or marketing purposes or shared with third parties, except where required by law.

8. Person Detection

Where supported by your camera, Person Detection uses image analysis to determine when a person is present within the camera's field of view. This helps reduce unwanted notifications caused by pets, shadows or other movement and provides more accurate alerts.

This feature is designed to detect the presence of a person and is not intended to identify who that person is.

For your convenience, the app may display recent person detection events and allow you to assign optional labels to frequently seen individuals, such as members of your household, colleagues or other authorised users. These labels are provided solely to help you organise events within your own account and are not used for advertising, marketing or shared with third parties.

9. Device Sharing

The DinDo app allows you to securely share access to your camera with authorised users, such as family members, friends or colleagues.

You can invite another person to access your camera by sharing the device QR code through the app. Once they accept your invitation, they can view the live camera feed and any recordings or alerts that you choose to share.

You remain in control of who has access to your camera and can add or remove shared users at any time through Settings > Device Sharing.

We do not collect additional personal information about the people you invite beyond what is necessary to provide the sharing feature.

10. Cloud Storage

Cloud Storage allows you to securely store and access your camera recordings from your authorised devices.

If you choose to subscribe to a Cloud Storage plan, your recordings are securely encrypted during transmission and storage so they can be viewed whenever you are signed in to your account.

Cloud Storage subscriptions are purchased through secure third-party payment providers. We receive confirmation of your subscription purchase and the plan you selected so that we can activate your service. We do not receive or store your payment card details or other payment account information.

11. Third-Party Services

Some features within the DinDo app rely on trusted third-party service providers, such as cloud storage, payment processing, push notifications and customer support.

Where a third-party service is required, we will only share the minimum information necessary to provide that service and only where you have chosen to use the feature or where it is required by law.

Our service providers are required to protect your information and may only use it to provide the services requested. They are not permitted to use your personal information for unrelated purposes.

If you choose to use a third-party service, you may also be asked to provide information directly to that provider. Information you provide directly to a third party is governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms of service. We encourage you to review these policies before using any third-party services.

12. App Permissions

To provide the features you choose to use, the DinDo app may request permission to access certain functions on your mobile device.

Some features require certain device permissions or personal information in order to operate correctly. If you choose not to grant a permission or provide the required information, the related feature may not be available. However, this will not affect features that do not rely on that permission or information.

You are always in control of these permissions and can allow or deny them through your device settings. Please note that disabling certain permissions may prevent some features from working correctly, but it will not affect features that do not rely on those permissions.

Permission

Why we request it

Storage

Allows you to save screenshots and recordings to your device and access locally stored files where required.

Optional

Camera

Used to scan QR codes when setting up your camera or sharing access with another user.

Optional

Microphone

Enables two-way audio so you can speak through your camera using the intercom feature.

Optional

If you choose not to grant a permission, the associated feature may not be available. You can change your permission settings at any time through your device's operating system settings.

13. Improving Our Products and Services

To help us improve the reliability, performance and security of the DinDo app, we may collect limited technical information about your mobile device and connected camera.

This information may include your device model, operating system version, app version, network connection type, camera model, firmware version, general device information, app usage statistics and diagnostic information such as crash reports.

We use this information to:

· Improve the stability and reliability of the app.

· Diagnose and resolve technical issues.

· Improve compatibility with different devices and operating systems.

· Develop and enhance product features.

· Understand how features are used so we can improve the overall user experience.

Where possible, this information is collected in a form that does not directly identify you and is used only for product improvement, diagnostics and service optimisation. It is not used to monitor your personal activities or to access the content of your camera recordings.

14. Security

Protecting your privacy and the security of your information is a priority for us.

We use a range of technical and organisational security measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

We may use account information, device information and app activity to:

· Verify your identity when required.

· Detect suspicious login attempts or unauthorised access.

· Protect your account and connected devices.

· Prevent fraud, abuse and other security threats.

· Maintain the security and reliability of our services.

These measures help us provide a secure service for all users while protecting your account and camera from unauthorised access.

15. When We May Process Information Without Additional Consent

In certain circumstances, applicable laws and regulationss may allow or require us to collect, use or disclose personal information without obtaining additional consent.

These circumstances may include:

· Where required to comply with applicable laws and regulationss or legal obligations.

· To respond to lawful requests from courts, law enforcement or government authorities.

· To protect the safety, rights or property of our users, our services or the public.

· To investigate or prevent fraud, security incidents or other unlawful activities.

· To maintain the security, reliability and operation of our products and services.

· Where the information has already been lawfully made publicly available.

· In other circumstances permitted or required by applicable laws and regulations.

Where possible, we will continue to respect your privacy and only process the minimum amount of information necessary for these purposes.

16. Clipboard Access

The DinDo app may temporarily access your device's clipboard when you choose to paste invitation codes, setup codes, sharing links or similar information into the app.

This access is used only to complete the action you have requested and is not used to collect unrelated clipboard content.

Some mobile devices may display a system notification indicating that the app has accessed your clipboard. This notification is generated by your device's operating system and may appear whenever clipboard access occurs, even if no personal information has been collected or stored by the app.

If you have any questions about clipboard access, please contact our support team.

17. Device Motion Sensor

The DinDo app uses your device's motion sensor (sometimes referred to as the gravity sensor) to automatically rotate live and recorded video when you rotate your phone or tablet.

This feature is used solely to improve your viewing experience and does not collect or store personal information.

18. Background Operation and Notifications

To ensure you receive important alerts, such as motion or person detection notifications, the DinDo app may continue to run limited background services where supported by your device's operating system.

This allows the app to:

· Deliver notifications promptly.

· Play your selected notification sound.

· Keep notification services operating reliably while the app is running in the background.

The app will only open content in response to your interaction, such as tapping a notification. It will not automatically open content or launch other apps without your action.

If you choose to open a file downloaded by the app, your device may use a suitable third-party application to display that file.

19. How We Store Your Personal Information

We retain your personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary to provide the services you use, comply with legal obligations and protect the security of our services.

Where Cloud Storage is used, recordings are securely stored for the retention period included with your selected Cloud Storage subscription. If you discontinue your Cloud Storage service, your cloud recordings will be removed in accordance with our data retention policies.

If you remove your camera, delete your account or stop using the DinDo app, we will stop collecting new personal information associated with your account and will delete or anonymise your personal information within the time required by applicable laws and regulations, unless we are legally required to retain certain information.

Personal information is stored using appropriate technical and organisational security measures, including encryption where applicable, to help protect your information during storage and transmission.

· To protect the safety, rights or property of our users, our services or the public.

· As part of a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition or transfer of assets, where appropriate safeguards are in place.

Where we work with trusted service providers or business partners, we share only the minimum information necessary for them to provide the requested service. We require these providers to protect your information and use it only for the purposes for which it was shared.

Where information is shared for product improvement or service analysis, we use aggregated or de-identified information wherever reasonably possible so that individuals cannot be identified.

21. Transfer of Personal Information

We will not transfer your personal information to another company or organisation except in the following circumstances:

Where appropriate, technical identifiers used for product diagnostics and security may be encrypted or anonymised before being processed.

If a data security incident occurs that is likely to affect your personal information, we will investigate the incident promptly, take appropriate steps to minimise any impact and notify affected users where required by applicable laws and regulations.
